Fuel Tank Rivet Cap Seal Tool – STL File Digital Download

Cap every rivet tail in your fuel tank with a clean, consistent bead of sealant. Van's tank construction has you cap the shop head of each rivet inside the tank with ProSeal or similar fuel tank sealant. This tool makes that step quick and repeatable.

How it works

The end of the tool has a cone-shaped cup sized for the shop head of AN426AD3 rivets. Dip the cup end in sealant, press it over the rivet tail, then twist and pull away. It leaves a neat, Hershey-Kiss shaped cap of sealant fully covering the rivet tail, and every one comes out the same.

Print a handful and throw them away

Tank sealant is messy and hard to clean off tools. These are small, fast prints meant to be disposable: print several, use one per sealing session, then toss it.

Print notes

  • Prints handle down, cup end up, already oriented in the file. No supports needed, so the inside of the cup stays smooth and releases sealant cleanly.
  • Overall size: 10 mm diameter × 36 mm long.
  • Prints in any common filament; PETG or ASA stand up best to sealant solvents.

I originally shared this design with builders for free. Since the old download link stopped working, it now lives here in the store at a minimal price.

What You Receive

  • One STL file of the cap seal tool
  • Digital download only — no physical item will be shipped
